Community Archives

The prime duty of the department is to strengthen and enrich its record holdings.To achieve this end department has come forward with the novel idea of Community Archives. Through Community Archives programme department hopes to reach out to the society, create awareness about records, locate records through surveys, preserve or conserve them at their site and acquire records from those who are willing to transfer their custody. Through this programme the department ensures that the valuable historical records that could be lost forever are saved by identifying and conserving them.
